Eight villagers of Sanasana in Sigatoka are being questioned by police after a brawl yesterday over security arrangements at the Yatule Beach Resort.

Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri told FijiLive that 12 men had also been treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the standoff.

He said some differences arose when officers from Homelink Security, hired by the Fiji National Provident Fund to take over security at the resort, arrived on the scene yesterday morning.

Police are trying to facilitate discussions between the two disputing parties.
