Fiji’s Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) industry is embarking on a marketing campaign under the slogan “Make it in Fiji”.
TCF Council president Kalpesh Solanki said the launch marks the end of a three-year industry development program funded by Australia.
Solanki said it also signifies the start of an awareness campaign that will raise the profile of Fiji’s TCF industry in its export markets and encourage potential buyers to make Fiji their preferred choice of supply.
“Make It In Fiji” is a simple yet compelling call to action,” he said.
The campaign will be officially launched next Tuesday at Suva’s Holiday Inn.
The Australian-funded program is part of a capacity-building exercise aimed at boosting what was a leading foreign exchange earner in the 1990s and eventually declined as preferential access for Fiji’s TCF products into Australia and New Zealand were eroded under the global move away from preferential agreements.
