Water Supply Department assures that the repair works in Vaturu damn to Nagado station in Nadi will finish in 3 weeks.

Department spokesman Iliesa Sokia told FijiLive that there is a major leak in one of the pipes which needs to be repaired immediately to avoid future problems.

He said this repair works will cause water disruptions for some residents in Nadi and Lautoka areas for the next three weeks but it has to be repaired now.

Sokia added that there will be water rationing  for the affected areas from 3am to 9am and from 3pm to 7pm everyday until repair works are completed.

Areas affected in Nadi include the Nadi back road, Mulomulo, Togamasi, Maqania, Taci and Solovi.

Meanwhile the areas affected in Lautoka are Waiyavi, Banaras, Vomo Street, Kashmir and Tavakubu road, Simla, Saru back road and Field 40 and Rifle Range.

Meanwhile the Nadi town, Lautoka city, the hospitals and hotels will have normal water supply.
