A 32-year-old farmer of Muaniweni is being questioned by Police after a severely injured woman was found lying on her canteen floor this morning.
Crime Officer (East) Assistant Superintendent of Police Aca White told FijiLive the suspect is alleged to have assaulted the 50-year-old woman and later robbed her.
“The suspect went to buy something in the morning from the victim’s canteen when he injured her and robbed her off $500 cash,” he said.
The woman, who was alone at home at the time, was discovered lying in a pool of blood by her house girl.
She is being admitted at the Suva Private Hospital.
“There is a wound on the right side of her head,” he said.
