The collective support of families and friends can get us through any tough time, says Cynthia Koi, a former cancer patient.
Speaking at ‘Fiji’s biggest morning tea’ at the Fiji Institute of Technology in Samabula, Koi said she didn’t lose hope after being diagnosed with cancer.
Koi was found with a lump under her right rib cage.
“I didn’t lose hope,” she told guests at the tea party.
She said the lump, when removed, was “the size of a disco ball”.
“All I needed was support from my family,” she said.
The mother of six discovered the illness in January this year.
Around 300 people gathered at the morning tea to contribute funds to the fight against cancer through the nationally-organised series of tea parties.
