The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd has named a former HSBC New Zealand chief executive officer as the bank’s CEO Pacific central region and general manager Fiji.

Norman Wilson has more than 35 years international banking experience across Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia.

As ANZ’s CEO Pacific Central Region, Wilson will be responsible for the bank’s business in the Pacific across Fiji and Kiribati, and will oversee ANZ Pacific Operations, based in Fiji. He will oversee more than 900 staff.

Wilson will take up the role in early October and will report to CEO Pacific, Craig Sims until Sims’ replacement Michael Rowland begins in the role in November.
