Fiji’s largest church has appointed its first woman to a senior position.
The Methodist Church’s standing committee yesterday decided to appoint Reverend Kelera Waisale as superintendent minister.
She will overlook the operations of a division of the Church’s congregation in the eastern coast of Fiji’s main island.
Majority of Fijians, who comprise well over half of Fiji’s population, attend the Methodist Church.
