A group of officers from Fiji’s Independent Commission Against Corruption, FICAC, today carried out a search of the offices of the country’s Inland Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA).
FICAC spokeswoman Erica Lee said she could only confirm that FICAC executed a search at the FIRCA offices.
Lee would not comment on the details of the search or whether any arrests had been made.
It is understood that documents were taken by FICAC officers during the search and that investigators were looking at possible charges.
FICAC has recently been investigating a senior FIRCA executive.
FIRCA chief executive officer Jitoko Tikolevu could not be reached for comment.
