The body of a man who died after being assaulted in Nausori Town four month ago remains in the Suva morgue and has not been claimed by any family member.
Health Ministry spokesman Iliesa Tora says they are contemplating handing over the body to a religious organization for cremation.
Police have identified the body as that of Ved Prakash Dass.
But, they’ve yet to notify the hospital on whether or not they have had any success in locating the man’s next of kin.
Tora said the hospital normally gives 3 to 6 months for the families and relatives to claim a body.
