Fijian Holdings Limited has announced executive appointments to two of its subsidiary companies.

Standard Concrete Industries Ltd (SCIL) general manager Mosese Volavola has been appointed chief executive officer of Basic Industries Ltd and Fiji Industries Ltd.

New Zealand-based tourism executive Tim Stonhill is the new general manager of Blue Lagoon Cruises.

FHL chief executive officer Sereana Qoro said Volavola had proven himself in key management positions over the past 16 years and was assuming the CEO position for two major FHL subsidiaries. SCIL is a division of Basic Industries.

Qoro said Stonhill has been in the tourism industry for more than 30 years. He joined Blue Lagoon from the Grand Hotels International where he was general manager for the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Christchurch and group operations director for the 11 Grand Chancellor hotels in New Zealand for more than 12 years.

Qoro said Stonhill’s experience in the tourism and travel industry would contribute positively towards the performance and business prospects of Blue Lagoon Cruises.

He is expected to train two locals as his understudy during his three-year contract.
