The annual Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards have been able to promote betters standards in local exports, says Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau chief executive officer, Annie Rogers.
“From a very modest beginning 17 years ago, the Exporter of the Year Awards has gone from strength to strength, in recognising the achievements of our local exporters from diverse sectors of the economy,” Rogers said at the launch of the 2009 awards in Suva.
“Over the years, the awards event has increased both in status and size which can be attributed to our growing export sector and hence competitors for the awards,” said Rogers.
The theme for this year’s awards is “Boosting Exports: The Cornerstone of Economic Prosperity”.
