A dozen people were injured early Monday when gunmen burst into a Miami party opening fire at guests, police told AFP.

Police said the three assailants escaped.

"Nobody is in custody. The information we got is preliminary information, we are still gathering elements on the event," said police spokesman Napier Velazquez.

Three people were seriously injured during the shooting, which took place shortly after midnight.

The injured were transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
