Jobs are expected to go at Telecom Fiji Ltd as part of its restructure exercise, the company announced today.

While no numbers were mentioned, the domestic telecommunications carrier said it will undergo a business restructure “in response to the impact of economic conditions on its business.”

“The restructuring exercise will be undertaken swiftly and will result in some staff redundancies for roles that are no longer needed by the business. Consultations with Union representatives have commenced,” said Vanessa Kilner, TFL’s Group Manager Marketing and Public Relations.

TFL’s new business structure is expected to be more responsive to the needs of its diverse customer base while reducing its cost structures, enabling it to compete in Fiji’s telecommunications market and meet its stakeholder obligations, Kilner said.

TFL, she added, will continue to remain committed to delivering best-of-class telecommunication services to its customers.
