Yasana Holdings now has a substantial presence on the board of palm wood furniture makers Pacific Green Industries (PGI). 

PGI yesterday announced the appointment of Daniel Manufolau and Pita Mawi to its board of directors, both of whom serve on the board of Yasana Holdings Ltd, an investment company owned collectively by the 14 Fijian provinces.

“Their appointment as directors was approved by the PGI Board at the annual general meeting held at Pacific Green in Sigatoka on 28th May, 2009,” a company statement said.

Manufolau has been chairman on the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) Investments Ltd board, the FNPF Hotel Resorts Ltd and is also director of Amalgamated Telecom Holdings, FNPF, Natadola Bay Resort Ltd, Grand Pacific Hotel, Fiji Directories Ltd and ATH Technology Pacific Ltd.

Mawi has been chairman of the finance committee for Yasana Holdings Ltd, chairman of the audit committee on the board of Merchant Finance and chairman to the board of Rewa Rice Ltd as well as served on the board of Fiji Television Ltd and Fijian Trust Fund. 

PGI is listed on the Suva-based South Pacific Stock Exchange and exports its palm wood furniture mainly to China and Eastern Europe.
