A man was hacked to death and another admitted at the Savusavu Hospital with knife wounds following a drinking party at noon yesterday.
Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that the victims and their assailant were part of a group of seven young men that were drinking home brew at a settlement near Nawi in Savusavu.
“An argument broke out and one of the guys started attacking the group with a cane knife,” Sokomuri explains.
“The group dispersed and some fled to the village. When they returned they found one of them dead while another was hurt. He is in hospital.”
The suspect is in custody whilst police continue their investigations.
