Fiji's Transport Workers Union is expected to access financial information it requested of Air Pacific when it meets this afternoon.
It has been confirmed the two parties meet in an hours’ time to discuss and come to an agreement on a proposed list of cost cutting measures that Air Pacific should impose to ensure workers’ interest are being considered, yet allow the company to survive during this tight economic situation.
Union general secretary Kamlesh Kumar confirmed the meet saying the union executives have come to an agreement on what issue to comprise the agenda of the meeting with the management of Air Pacific.
He will issue another statement after the meeting.
Air Pacific had proposed cost cutting measures, including the reduction of working hours and cabin crews to take leaves owed and leave without pay options.
Chief executive and managing director John Campbell is attending the company’s board meeting for the next day and could not be reached for a comment.
He is expected to comment after the meeting.
