Close to 300 business establishments in the greater Nadi area are now the subject of the Nadi Chamber of Commerce’s post-flooding survey to determine the real impact of the disaster that hit Fiji in early January.
Chamber president Dr Ram Raju told FijiLive that around 300 questionnaires were issued yesterday to every business outlets in the worst hit part of Nadi.
“This is an expensive survey that we have now conducted as we continue to collate information from businesses after the flooding,” Raju said.
“Through this survey, we will be able to gather a summary of how many shops have closed, how many have moved out of Nadi, how many have yet to start business again and also we will be able to determine the losses in dollar terms,” he said.
He added the number of jobs lost would also be able to be determined.
Raju said the result of this survey was expected to be known next week.
