The National Youth Services has been identified as one of the avenues to take in new recruits into the common cadre of the civil service, subject to the Public Service Commission’s recruitment standards.

Cabinet endorsed submission by the Minister for Education Filipe Bole who said that the NYSS has a total registration of 6,777 young people which includes youths with Masters Degrees, Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.

He said given that these trained young people are readily available, the NYSS will be an appropriate window available to Government to source its new recruitment into the civil service.

He also said that the NYSS will train all those who enter into the Scheme with the skills and knowledge appropriate for those entering the civil service in the common cadre.
