Fiji’s major sugar body Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd (FSC) has reshuffled its executive structure as it now focuses on strengthening its management.
Two mill general managers have been appointed to executive positions in the company’s head office in Lautoka in a bid to enhance financial discipline and strengthen production.
FSC chief executive Deo Saran said the changes were aimed at strengthening the Corporation’s management team by realigning its expertise and resources to meet the Corporation’s organisational needs.
Ali Ubadutt, currently the general manager for the Lautoka Mill returns to head office as GM Finance, a position he had held earlier.
Saran said with Ali’s financial background and with the experience as mill GM, he was ideally placed to play a pivotal role in enhancing financial discipline and overseeing the financial function of the Corporation.
Mikaele Biukoto will replace Ubadutt.
Biukoto is currently GM Production Services and had earlier served as mill GM.
Another executive appointee, Udai Nand, GM Labasa, will be transferred to the head office as Manager Production Services.
He will be replaced by Kariamakin Christopher as the acting GM for Labasa Mill.
He added with Nand’s experience and strong sugar background, he would be a key member of the corporate technical team at head office.
