A 39-year-old Fiji man has been charged with sacrilege and damaging property following his arrest by West police Friday night.

Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said the man is alleged to have vandalised the Raviravi Christian Fellowship Church in Ba on Thursday.

Abusive language was also written on the walls of the church, Sokomuri said.

The man is expected to appear in the Ba court tomorrow.

Police have asked members of the public to refrain from doing such activities.
