The Tappoo and Fiji National Provident Fund’s (FNPF) $40 million joint project being constructed in the heart of Suva is expected to be complete by mid-year.

Tappoo managing director Kantilal Tappoo confirmed this to FijiLive saying the building would be complete and operational come June or July.

He said the structure was almost complete with only the internal finishing left.

“We are quite optimistic about that (completion) and by June or July and we should be able to have that up and running,” Tappoo said.

Questioned on the tenant make-up of the building, he said his employees were still working on that.

“I would be able to disclose this later on,” he said.

Tappoo and FNPF had announced this venture in 2006 with initial plans to house its department store, a cinema and other luxury outlets.
