The US administration is re-considering a controversial clause in its economic stimulus plan banning the use of foreign steel for huge infrastructure projects, a White House spokesman said Friday.
"The administration is reviewing that provision. It understands all of the concerns that have been heard not only in this room," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told a briefing.
The "Buy American" drive in President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan has sparked protests from businesses and trading partners, while drawing cheers from domestic manufacturers and unions.
