Fiji is among the top three destinations in the world that is being promoted for a couple to choose to marry at.
Australia’s high-rating television travel programme, the Nine Network’s Getaway lists Fiji as number three after Las Vegas and Hawaii.
The Cook Islands and North Queensland fall into fourth and fifth places, respectively.
While Getaway highlights Las Vegas’ flashing lights and Hawaii’s fancy white traditional wedding, it promotes Fiji’s natural surrounding and sceneries fitting for a romantic honeymoon.
“Fiji: Closer to home, the clear blue water, swaying palms and friendly locals make the Fijian Islands a pretty appealing place to tie the knot and stay on for the honeymoon. Beware, though, sometimes your guests will want to stay on too,” it said.
The wedding segment is one of Fiji’s tourism industry’s growing contributors, with resorts and five-star hotels now focusing on this particular market realising its potential.
The Nine Network one-hour weekly programme has an Australian audience of more than two million and is seen in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and on all Qantas’ International and Australian domestic flights.
