Fiji’s international airline Air Pacific says all flights to and from Nadi are operating normally.
And penalties for passengers who made changes to their flights have been waived, Air Pacific managing director and chief executive John Campbell said.
Campbell said the adverse weather conditions had had minimal impact on scheduled operations.
He said there had been mild delays encountered due mainly to the delayed arrival of departing customers to Nadi Airport.
In addition to its normal services, he said the airline had coordinated an extra flight from Nadi to Sydney via its code-share partner Qantas to facilitate the carriage of passengers that had missed flights to Australia.
He said Qantas would also assist those wishing to travel earlier than originally planned.
He added inbound customers to Fiji were also advised of the weather situation and flexibility was being offered for deferment of travel plans at no extra costs.
“Penalties normally applicable for booking changes have been waived for all customers impacted by the current situation. This waiver will remain in force for customers for changes made up to the 18th of January, 2009,” Campbell said.
But Air Pacific’s subsidiary Pacific Sun cancelled all flights scheduled for yesterday with flight operations to resume according to the weather situation.
Airports Fiji general manager airports Luke Koroi said Nadi International Airport was open for business and all operations and businesses continued normally.
