The brother of movie star Mark Ruffalo has died, just over one week after being shot in the head at his Beverly Hills apartment, police and coroners officials confirmed Tuesday.

Scott Ruffalo, 39, a hair stylist, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the early hours of December 1 and had been in a coma ever since. He died in Cedars Sinai hospital late Monday, officials confirmed.

On Monday, a 26-year-old woman identified as Shaha Mishaal Adham was taken into custody on a warrant of attempted murder in connection with the shooting, Beverly Hills police lieutenant Tony Lee confirmed.

An associate of Adham's, Brian Scofield, 29, who has been described as a person of interest in the case, was also booked for a traffic warrant.

Police have said Adham and Scofield may have been at the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Mark Ruffalo, 41, is best known for his roles in "Zodiac," "Collateral" and "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind."

He recently completed filming on Oscar-winner Martin Scorsese's upcoming thriller "Shutter Island," co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley.
