A dance teacher’s efforts have been rewarded with a performing arts programme by 40 students of International School Suva.
Choreographer/co-ordinator Natasha Annis told FijiLive she had been teaching the students ballet and dance at the school for a year and this culminated in the Let’s Dance programme at the school last night.
Speaking after the programme, Annis said she was extremely happy that the first such event had gone off without a hitch and she hoped to involve more students next year.
“These 40 kids, aged between four and 12 years, have been with me for a year and their classes were part of the school curriculum,” she said.
“I hope to have more students involved and my message to them is to always have fun and enjoy what you’re doing.
“I thank the parents and the school for being supportive towards this programme.”
The programme involved students showing their ballet and dance prowess through two special items – an Alice in Wonderland production and an All That Jazz programme that involved solo performances.
Annis said she hoped to stage the event again next year.
