Jurors retired to consider their verdict in O.J. Simpson's robbery and kidnapping trial here Friday, 13 years to the day after the American football legend was acquitted of murder.
The jury began deliberations at around 8:30 am (1530 GMT) after a three-week trial that could end with Simpson being jailed for life if he is found guilty of a dozen charges.
On October 3, 1995, Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in Los Angeles after an explosive, racially divisive trial that was the subject of worldwide media interest.
Simpson was plunged into a fresh legal fight last year after he was alleged to have led a gang of gun-toting men into a showdown with two sports memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas Hotel room.
Prosecutors say Simpson and the five men allegedly left with thousands of dollars of memorabilia stuffed into pillow cases following the heist.
Simpson insisted in interviews that he had only been recovering personal items that had been stolen from his trophy room, and said he was unaware that his cohorts were armed with weapons.
However, four of Simpson's accomplices struck plea deals and testified against the former sports star during his Las Vegas trial. The fifth man, Clarence Stewart was Simpson's co-defendant.
