Fiji’s National Fire Authority has hit another milestone today with the launch of its website.
It says the website has been developed to create more awareness for the people.
The website was launched by the Deputy Secretary of Information, Major Neumi Leweni, in Suva.
Major Leweni said the new website would be an important medium for the efficient delivery of fire safety information to various stakeholders.
He said the launching came at an appropriate time for people to learn a lot about the role and responsibilities of NFA and how they can take appropriate steps from disasters occurring.
“I am sure this website will have abundance of information on the role and responsibilities of NFA, different forms of disasters, preparedness and preventative tips for the public to understand and avoid disasters happening,” Major Leweni said.
“I also believe that NFA has 14 fire stations throughout the country and with the development of the website, these centres will be able to communicate faster and better in line with the organisation’s vision of: ‘A community well prepared and supported to achieve minimal impact from fire and other emergencies’.”
He also said that the website had been available on Government’s intranet and was declared website of the week for over a month in August/September on government’s intranet network.
