Fiji’s price regulator Prices and Incomes Board (PIB) has today confirmed the price reduction in the wholesale and retail price of fuel, effective tomorrow Friday August 15.
This followed a Cabinet announcement of its endorsement of duty reduction on motor spirit (unleaded petrol), premix outboard fuel and diesel.
PIB secretary Ane Naulivou said these duty reductions resulted in the adjusted retail prices.
She said consumers in Suva, Lautoka and Lami areas should expect the following variations in retail prices from service stations tomorrow: Motor spirit will now cost $2.32 per litre: an increase of 12 cents; and
diesel will now cost $2.28 from $2.39 per litre.
Naulivou said the retail prices of premix outboard fuel would now be $2.26 per litre, an increase of 12 cents.
She said no adjustments were made to the price of kerosene.
“Traders and consumers are advised that the above prices will differ in other areas because of additional cartage and delivery charges,” Naulivou said.
