A 12-member delegation from Taiwan is in the country exploring investment potentials in the sectors of tourism, aquaculture, forestry, pharmaceuticals, dairy and others.
And a member of the delegation is already keen to import and possibly set up a virgin coconut oil processing plant in Fiji.
Some of these investors have visited Fiji on holiday but are now keen on investing in areas of interest and the bottling of mineral water is another potential.
And with the strength of Fiji as a brand in the water market there is potential for other companies to also explore these.
Welcoming the delegation this morning in Suva, interim Trade minister Tom Ricketts highlighted some strategic steps being taken by the Government towards facilitating speedy investment approvals.
The interest from the Taiwanese investors is coming at a time when investment interests from other countries are slow, he said.
The Fiji Trade Representative in Republic of China (ROC) Taiwan, Frances Ligalevu, who accompanied the delegation, stressed the need for more promotion and boosting awareness of Fiji not just as a holiday destination but as an investment one too.
Members of the delegation also met with representatives of Government agencies like the Departments of Fisheries, Tourism and Immigration, Fiji Pharmaceutical Services, Fiji Islands Revenue & Customs Authority, Department of Forestry, Department of Energy and a private tourism project developer.
