The Unit Trust of Fiji (“UTOF”), setup under the Unit Trust Act 1978, has been meeting the needs of investors for over 31 years and has become one of the major investment institutions in Fiji.

Applications are invited from suitable individuals for the position of “Investment Analyst” to be based in Suva.

Investment Analyst

The role reports to the Senior Investment Officer. The Investment Analyst undertakes assessment of proposed new investments to assess viability‎, ‎potential‎ performance and contribution to the UTOF’s investment portfolio‎.‎ ‎The Investment Analyst must also analyse ‎existing investments in the UTOF portfolio‎.‎

Key outcomes include:

 Reporting on investee companies
 Portfolio performance analysis
 Conducting valuations
 Investment opportunities analysis
 Recommending on investment opportunities
 Forecasting of business, industry and economic conditions
 Evaluation and comparison of various securities
 Preparation of plans of action for investments
 Presentation of oral and written reports on investments

The successful candidate must possess a Degree in Commerce (Accounting and Economics/Finance/Information Systems) and/or a qualification in Applied Finance and Investment from Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) or equivalent.

The potential candidate must have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, have good communication, numerical and analytical skills and be self-confident.
