Magpies look to land Beye

Marseille's Senegal international defender Habib Beye could be on his way to Newcastle United, sources close to the Premier League club told AFP on Wednesday.

Marseille are keen to sell their skipper and the 29-year-old arrived in Newcastle on Wednesday for a medical.

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is on the look out for a right back and is also keen to sign versatile Bolton midfielder Abdoulaye Faye, who also underwent a medical on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Faye, who can also play in defence, is set to join Newcastle on a three-million-euro deal.
