Opening Mass - WYD...!!
Tue Jul 22, 2008 3:41 am
Pilgrims were up at 3am and made there way to the Largest Mass one could ever be part of....275,000 youth of different Nationalities gathered at Borangaroo, Sydney, and celebrated the beautiful mass with the Archbishop Pele of Australia on Tuesday, the 15th of July, 2008.
The traditional Aboriginal dance marked the authority and appreciation of the Lands we stood on.
It was the most touching experience to meet and greet the youth from the different countries with their unique cultures and how amazing it was to see the many friendly personalities where for a moment you cannot imagine that there were any such things as anger, hatred, racism or discrimination in our World - All you could feel was love and compassion as God's people.
The whole day was so smooth. We had live concerts after mass and everyone just danced and danced for joy. We were provided with Lunch and Dinner and Australia did an excellent job in terms of catering. Well organised...!!
It was a long day and pilgrims were on the way back to their camp sites at 2am Wednesday morning by train for in another few hours they had to be up again for the festivals at Hide Park.
Cheers for now and will update you tomorrow on what all happened on Wednesday, the 16th of July, 2008...!!
